A special NCCR Bio-Inspired Materials issue of CHIMIA
CHIMIA, the Swiss Chemical Society's journal, has released a special issue dedicated to the NCCR Bio-Inspired Materials, providing an overview of the research and other activities carried out by Center staff.
After four very successful years, the Swiss National Science Foundation council approved the pursuit of the Center’s activities in a second funding phase. The NCCR is currently in a transition period that offers an ideal opportunity to highlight the past and present activities of the Center in CHIMIA, as well as some future directions. Besides presenting a selection of its research projects, which focus on mechanically responsive materials, biologically inspired assembly of optical materials, and responsive bio-interfaces and surfaces, the special issue also presents the NCCR’s many programs that integrate research and education, support knowledge and technology transfer, and promote equal opportunities in science.
The special issue includes contributions from NCCR staff at the Adolphe Merkle Institute, the University of Fribourg, the University of Geneva, as well as the Federal Institutes of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) and Zurich (ETHZ). It is available in print and online.
